Disney

The Walt Disney Company has been around since 1923. The founding fathers of the US media company were Walt and Roy Disney. Their aim was to produce animated cartoons and entertainment films for children and young people. Working in a small office and with simple technical equipment, the filmmakers initially created the short film Alice in Cartoonland and several advertising cartoons. At the end of the 1920s, the Mickey Mouse character saw the light of day. Disney became world-famous with the first comic hero.

Many enchanting films celebrated their premiere in Hollywood

Donald Duck, the duck in the sailor skirt, ensured that box office sales reached new record highs. Disney appealed to both children and adults alike with the feature-length animated film for the cinema "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". The touching fairy-tale film even won an OSCAR in 1937 for its more than successful production. Other successful animated films such as "Pinocchio", "Fantasia" and "Bambi" followed. In 1955, the media company made a major investment. The first amusement park with various fantasy worlds for the individual Disney characters was opened. After just a few months, the management was able to record high visitor numbers.

Disney films have been with us for many years now. The stories that are told are not entirely unfamiliar to the audience. Whether “Beauty and the Beast”, “Robin Hood” or “The Jungle Book”, all these productions bring back fond childhood memories. The characters portrayed sometimes seem romantic, enchanting, sometimes a little schmaltzy. Lifelike animations and authentic Disney characters have contributed to the fact that not only children but also most adults are fascinated by the films. The most ambitious entertainment empire has always struck a chord with its masterpieces.

Disney is omnipresent in many children's rooms

Girls and boys alike have their very own favourite hero or heroine. Over the years, a whole host of Disney characters have come together in the Disney world. In addition to princesses and princes, a whole host of talking animals have also conquered the silver screen. The Disney universe includes Baloo from The Jungle Book and the cute Bambi, who has to fend for himself after the death of his mother.

Even Peter Pan from Neverland appears in the children's room. The boy in his green clothes embodies the innocence and carefree nature of childhood in an impressive way. This goes down very well with children. However, other superheroes and superheroines such as the lamp genie Genie, the fearless Mulan and Woody also become role models. Both boys and girls want to emulate their idols and always have their imaginary friend around them.

In short, wall decorations with Disney motifs are definitely an enrichment in the children's room. When designing their walls, boys tend to focus on heroism, adventure fun and fast-paced action. Girls, on the other hand, are more interested in fairytale worlds, nature, animals and mythical creatures.

The development phase plays an important role when decorating the walls

After a certain age, every child has certain ideas about what their nursery should look like. For babies, parents have to choose the future wall decorations. The baby's room should always be practical and not too cluttered. A spacious changing unit, wardrobe and cot are all you need to start with. This aspect also applies to the design of the walls. Wallpaper or a subtle coat of paint is an advantage as it creates a calming effect. Experience has shown that babies sleep a lot in the first few months. Nevertheless, an accent wall with a comic or cartoon character can be incorporated into the room concept.

Toddlers, on the other hand, are already a little more agile. Initially, they move around the home on all fours so that they can inspect their surroundings more closely. The little explorers learn to walk faster than you might think and perceive colours more intensively. Child-friendly wallpapers have a positive impact on creativity and learning ability.

The first interests and preferences begin to emerge at nursery age. Girls focus on dolls, horses and mythical creatures. Boys, on the other hand, discover a soft spot for cowboys, fire engines or aeroplanes. The walls in the children's room can therefore be more colourful and detailed. Photo wallpapers that show an excerpt from the story of little Simba, for example, or a wall sticker that reflects the ice palace from the film “Ice Queen” make excellent wall decorations.

In addition to a cosy place to sleep, schoolchildren definitely need a relaxation zone. An area that is recommended as a personal retreat. This feel-good oasis can be decorated with stimulating colours and inspiring patterns. Coherent motif elements or a small scene invite you to think and dream. It has been proven that the colourful and imaginative diagrams also train the sense of creativity.

Teenagers get their money's worth at Disney

Wood pictures such as the "Hakuna Matata" lettering from the Walt Disney film "The Lion King" are very popular with young people. Translated into German, the motivational phrase "Es gibt keine Probleme" ("There are no problems") provides encouragement when things aren't going so well. Even the "Star Wars Millennium Falcon" photo wallpaper creates a feeling of lightness, almost as if it were shifting the boundaries of space and time.
