The goldfinch, also known as the goldfinch, is recognizable by its red head plumage, brown back and especially by its black wings with a yellow color accent. The small songbird symbolizes endurance and perseverance. The Dutch painter Carel Fabritius created the colorful goldfinch in A4 size. The oil painting is one of the artist's few surviving works. Fabritius was regarded as a bridge between the old masters Rembrandt van Rijn and Jan Vermeer. The painting hangs in the Mauritshuis Picture Gallery in The Hague.
