Materials needed
wallpaper, application instructions, universal adhesive, bucket with water, roller, ruler, cutter, pencil, spirit level, soft sponge and scissors.
-
Step 1
The wall should be clean, free of dust and fat, and free of any remains of previous wallpaper.
-
Step 2
Unroll the stripes of wallpaper and put them in order. Measure the wall and mark the points on the wall with the pencil. For better results it is recommended to mark the points for each individual panel.
-
Step 3
Mix the adhesive according the instructions on the packet. Follow these instructions carefully.
-
Step 4
Apply the wallpaper to the wall. It is best to start with the first left panel. Apply the adhesive to the first panel, carefully and evenly, make sure the edges have enough adhesive. Do not let the adhesive set, so stick it right to the wall making sure it fits the markings made before. Start at the top and press with the roller downwards. For each next panel, allow an overlap of about 2-3 mm. Air bubbles can be removed by gently pressing the roller from the inside out. Remains of the adhesive can be removed with a soft damp cloth.
-
Step 5
Let the wallpaper dry. It is best to do so at a temperature of about 20° C. Drying too fast can have a negative effect on the wallpaper. Try to avoid draught in wintertime.
Paper wallpaper are always applied to the wall with an overlap. For the wallpapers of Wizard & Genius (W+G) this does not apply, apply these panels without overlap.
