Alu-Dibond with silver effect - Sparshott - Construction of a Bicycle
David Sparshott is a UK-based illustrator who graduated from the Bristol School of Art & Design in 2006. He creates his drawings with the media graphite and crayons. His works are characterized by a harmonious interplay of playful observations and detailed lines. Reportage and observational drawing are an integral part of David's practice. David Sparshott has worked for a variety of clients including the New York Times, General Electric, the Ride Journal, Rapha and Magma Books.??Bicycles have been around since 1817, when it became known Draisine. The then named impeller was invented by Karl Drais and unfortunately forgotten again. Only in the second half of the 19th century were wheels rebuilt and further developed to the bike we know today. On the motif you can see how complex a modern bicycle is. From spokes, brakes and individual screws, David Sparshott recorded everything in great detail.
