Ramadan
For practising Muslims, Ramadan holds immense significance. For one month, from dawn until sunset, Muslims refrain from eating and drinking. This conscious abstinence is meant to bring body and soul back into balance. The holy celebration of Ramadan offers an opportunity for people to free themselves from sin. The rules of fasting are set out in the holy book of Islam, the Qur’an. To better prepare for this sacred time, many decorate parts of their home. At Wall Art, you’ll find a wide range of beautiful decorative items to help you experience and feel Ramadan more deeply.
Ramadan is the second most important Islamic holiday
During this time, prayer becomes especially important for Muslims, as their thoughts turn more frequently to God (Allah). Muslims avoid anything that may distract them from their faith. Loud music, concerts, and arguments are deliberately avoided. Despite certain hardships, this period is often filled with joy. People meet with relatives and friends and decorate their homes. At the end of the fasting month, the so-called Festival of Breaking the Fast (Eid al-Fitr) is celebrated. It lasts for three days, during which normal eating resumes.
Ramadan calls for decoration
No Ramadan is complete without decoration. Oriental-style lanterns are commonly seen in windows. Pictures featuring Qur’anic verses and Ramadan motifs are also very popular. Through decoration, Muslims express that they are living in a sacred and meaningful time. Ramadan is much more than fasting and prayer – it is about creating a warm, uplifting and spiritual home environment.
A particularly charming decorative piece is the wooden garland “Moon, Stars and Lantern”. Made from natural mahogany wood, it makes a wonderful hanging ornament. With pre-drilled holes, simply thread a piece of string through and hang it wherever you'd like.
With the acrylic decoration “Arabian Night”, you can bring one of Islam’s most iconic symbols into your home. The crescent moon and a mosque with minarets under a starry sky instantly transform your space into an Islamic-inspired scene. The high-gloss finish adds a radiant shine to the wall décor.
Wall stickers such as “Ramadan Kareem – Moon Silhouette” or “Arabian Night Skyline with Ramadan Calligraphy” create the perfect mood for the fasting month. These popular decorative elements come in various sizes and can be applied easily to the wall without much effort.
Posters with the phrase “Eid Mubarak” and a printed crescent moon bring a fresh decorative feel to your rooms. A poster featuring a Ramadan calendar is also an original piece of wall art. It can be hung with or without a frame. To track your fasting days, simply cross out the relevant number. A glass marker pen works well for this purpose.
Fabric prints with the Arabic expression “Eid Mubarak” (“Happy Eid” or “Blessed Festival”) or praying hands holding a Misbaha prayer bead chain make for wonderful Ramadan decorations. These elegant banners quickly brighten up any room and leave a lasting impression.
If you’re looking for meaningful and decorative accents for Ramadan, Wall Art is the perfect place to find them.
