For laymen, applying decorative films for the first time is often a challenge, but with a few tricks it can be easily mastered. The first step is always to clean the surface: dust, lint and other small particles of dirt would be immediately visible on a smooth film and, of course, cannot be removed later once the film has been applied.

When applying film to a large area, it is important not to remove the entire backing film at once – there is a high risk that the film will stick and be damaged as a result. It is better to first align it in the desired position – it is best to have a second person help you with this on larger surfaces. Then start by peeling back one corner of the backing film while already applying it to the substrate. You can then continue to peel back the backing film bit by bit and press the adhesive film onto the substrate in stages. If you are working with a spatula or other flat object, you can immediately push out any unsightly air bubbles. When applying to smaller areas, it is best to start in the centre when applying the film to doors or windows and to gradually press the film evenly onto the surface.
